Many more pictures to be posted on Flickr and elsewhere, to be sure. We've been quite enjoying ourselves. We rented a cabin up in the Rockies and we were pleasantly surprised to find it stocked with loads of toys to entertain both J and C. We got to see and hear elk, paddle around a little lake, play lots of Dominion, read and actually finish some books, and just generally relax.
Last weekend was J's third birthday. We hung out for most of the day at Edwin Warner Park. The park has a great wading creek and lots of little trails to walk. J especially loved the creek. She eventually stripped down to her skivvies, and had I not intervened, would have been quite happy to splash around in the buff.
We found a multitude of ripe persimmons, which we enjoyed munching on. The park also has a really great permaculture garden that we are interested in emulating.
Three is a really tough age, but it is also a really fun age. I love this little girl!
B read two verses for them. The first is significant to me for them and the latter was his choice:

We have really enjoyed our local YMCA, taking advantage of the nice indoor swimming pools and workout facilities. A has been taking J swimming since she was about six months old, so she's quite used to the water.
